Our story began in 2013, from theoretical musing and the hypothesis that the solubility of a substance could be determined by means of machine vision. Seeing was truly believing – the innovation opened up a completely new way to measure physicochemical properties of materials. The SPA™ technology was further refined during the years 2013-2018.
After successful proof of concept studies with some of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world, The Solubility Company was founded in 2018 as a spin-out from the University of Helsinki. The Solubility Company provides measurement services based on the proprietary image-based SPA™ technology as a preclinical contract research organization (CRO) .
Our service laboratory is based in Helsinki, Finland and is operated by a highly skilled team with more than 50 years of experience in physical chemistry, pharmaceutical development and high-tech R&D.
